Explore the unique beauty of this seldom traveled paddling trail

Reservations are not currently required to attend this program.

Experience the sparkling beauty of open waters and travel into the swampy sloughs. This area is less travelled, giving paddlers a unique opportunity to experience wildlife up close. This paddling trail is about 3 miles long.

For this trip, you must have your own boat. We do not have any rentals at this unit of the park.

When: The kayak trip starts at 9am

Where: North Cherokee Unit Boat Ramp

Bring: Participants must bring their own kayak and boating gear. Water shoes, appropriate attire, plenty of water.

Cost: Guided trips are free, entrance to the park requires a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass. Arrive 15-30 minutes early to pick up your day pass at Headquarters, or purchase ahead of time online.

Reminder: Keep in mind that even though these are guided trips, you participate at your own risk. If your kayak tips over, you must be able to get back in by yourself. You can choose to stay with the group or peel off and do your own trip if you wish.

Paddling trips may be cancelled in inclement weather.

There are no restrooms in this unit of the park. Please plan accordingly.
