Join Ranger Amy to learn about and create poems!

During this class, we'll learn about several different types of poems while hiking along a trail. Along the way, Ranger Amy will read different poems to the class and allow time for homeschool students to write some of their own creations. Sharing is optional.

Space is limited so please sign-up online ahead of time.

*If you cannot make it to the program then you MUST cancel via Eventbrite, email Ranger Amy or leave a voicemail at 409-698-6636. Please try to cancel 2 days prior to the program so that we can open up your registered spot for someone else. If you "no-show" to this program then your name will be placed on the waitlist for all future park programs.  

When: Wednesday, Oct. 9, 10 am - noon 

Where: Martin Dies, Jr. State Park nature center on Walnut Ridge Unit.

What to bring: Bring your own notebook and pen or pencil for writing.

Cost: The program is free, but if you plan on staying in the park after the program then you must obtain a park entry permit. Entrance fees are paid at Park Headquarters and are $4 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free. Bring your Texas state park pass to waive entry fees. If you bring exact cash you can fill out a self-pay envelope at the nature center.
