Volunteer Training: Paddling Guide

Join our volunteer community and learn how to lead Guided Paddling Trips!

Become a guide and take new and experienced paddlers out into the wonders of our waterways. 

During training you'll learn 

  • Safety  Basics
  • How to work with new paddlers
  • Paddling Trail Navigation
  • Martin Dies, Jr. State Park Natural History
  • Emergency Procedures

Volunteer Paddle Guides must provide their own gear and already possess strong paddling skills.

Please RSVP to attend this training. 

What: Learn how to lead a guided paddling trip

When: 8am-11am 

Where: Meet at the Walnut Slough Day Use Area

Cost: RSVP'd participants will receive free entry to the park for this training. 

Join our volunteer community and help lead nature programs at the park. You must sign up to be a volunteer or already have an active volunteer profile to attend training. Contact Ranger Katy to learn more.
