Planet Party (Weather Permitting)

Weather permitting, join a Ranger to gaze at the stars and get a glimpse of gas giants Saturn and Jupiter through a telescope. Location change! This location for this event has changed from the Lower Falls area to the Amphitheater!

If weather conditions don't cooperate, we'll look for nocturnal critters instead.

Meet: Amphitheater

Bring: Closed toed shoes, water, a flashlight with a red light

Leave: white lights, light up shoes, and dogs at home. Additional light in the area that is not red will drastically reduce our ability to see the planets and stars. It can take up to 30 minutes for your eyes to fully dilate to allow all the light in it needs to see the details of space and less than a second of outside light to start the process over again. Please be kind to others!

Terrain Description: pocked uneven limestone bedrock

Event is Free with paid entrance fees; (Adults: $6, Children 12 and under: Free!)

Want to speed up your entry process? Get your day pass ahead of time online!

*If you do not reserve your day pass ahead of time, you will need to come with exact change or your Texas Parks Pass to fill out a self-pay envelope at the entrance gate.

*The gate will close to the public at 10pm and will only re-open with a gate code (provided by the Ranger leading the program).
