Hang out with a Ranger and drop a line with into history!

Join Ranger Jared and try your luck fishing historic San Pedro creek. While the project to provide public fishing access to the creek is underway, come in and try your luck early with this sneak peak!

  • All ages and skill levels, from inexperienced to angler, are welcome!
  • Bait will be provided while supplies last, and the park will have an assortment of rods for public use- first come first serve. But feel free to bring your own bait and tackle.
  • There will be two prizes for the biggest catch by length, one for ages 11 and under and another for 12 and beyond!
  • Whether you’re learning a new skill or honing your craft as a sportsman, enjoy your park by casting out into a stream that's been fished by all the peoples of Texas history.

Participants are advised to bring water, bug spray, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, their own gear if they desire, and their lucky fishing hat!

Remember, no license is needed for fishing from the bank on waters fully enclosed with a Texas State Park.

Meet at the Mission, from there we will take a short walk to the creek. This event is dependent on water levels due to our dry summer here in ETX, check the park's facebook for updates the week of the event.

*Attendance to this event is open to the public and free after regular day use or camping fees.
