Heaps of history + poking holes in targets, what’s not to love?

Experience the challenge of primitive hunting and warfare with the atlatl in a safe archery range setting at Mission Tejas State Park!

- The atlatl is a tool that has gone by many names and been used by many cultures around the world.

- It may just be a simple lever to throw spears farther and faster, but it’s also a fantastically fun way to connect to the past and experience history firsthand. Discover a little bit about the history of the atlatl and where it fits into our story.

- Learn the proper technique for safely and skillfully using the atlatl to propel darts down range. Then, give it a shot yourself! Pun intended folks!

Participants should bring water, bug spray, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, and be ready for a challenge!
