Fall Color Hike

9:30a to 11:00a

Soak up the warm hues of Fall and learn where all that color comes from!

On this easy hike, stroll through just over a mile of beautiful Pineywoods with our Interpretive Ranger while we hunt for both the hints and broad strokes of fall color.

- This trail travels along a hilltop from the CCC Pond, past the still-standing hearth and chimney of a homestead getaway from the 1950s, all the way to the swale from the original El Camino Real.

- Feel free to ask questions about the plant and animal life found in this part of the park, learn why stewardship is important for our state parks, and follow in the footsteps of the heroes of Texas history by ending your hike on El Camino Real.

Bring water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, and come hike through history with us!

Meet at the Playground.

***Attendance to this event is open to the public and free after regular day use or camping fees.
