Explore some of the diverse habitats hiding within our Pineywoods.

CANCELLED due to park closure until Monday 5/6/19, severe weather damage park wide.

Join Ranger Jared on a moderate 1.75 mi. hike connecting sections of multiple trails here at MTSP to explore unique and distinct habitats hiding within the greater Pineywoods ecosystem.

- From ravine cut hillsides, to pine savannahs, to floodplains, to canebreaks, Mission Tejas holds several unique, and in some cases threatened, habitats all within the same old park boundaries.

- Learn what makes each of these distinct natural scenes special, what wildlife calls them home, and what you can do to protect and improve them in your own neck of the woods!

Bring water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, bug spray, and be ready to hunt for hidden landscapes and sacred spots in the Pineywoods!

Meet at the Mission!

***Attendance to this event is open to the public and free after regular day use or camping fees.
