Walk in the shadows of the young men who reshaped our nation and replanted our wilderness.

Explore trails first walked 83 years ago, and see the oldest pine in the park...

- On this moderate hike, stroll through around 2 miles of beautiful Pineywoods ravines with a Ranger and marvel at some of the most historic trails of MTSP.

- Walk a rock staircase put in by the Civilian Conservation Corps more than 80 years ago. Learn the truth behind the rock feature that has come to be known as the “CCC Baths”. Soak in the scenery and enjoy the serenity of walking in the footsteps of the young men who first planted the seeds of Texas State Parks!

- Feel free to ask questions about the plant and animal life found in this part of the park, about the Civilian Conservation Corps life and projects, and learn why stewardship is important for our state parks.

Bring water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, and be ready take a hike back in time.

Meet at the Playground!
