Long Haul Hike

Test your endurance and warm up with a distance hike at MTSP!

Sometimes 1 or 2 miles just doesn’t get the blood flowing, and holiday food doesn’t help!

- Join Ranger Jared in a longer hike over moderate difficulty terrain, coming in at just around 6 miles. This trip will combine 83 year old CCC trails with some of our newest trails and fire break trails, creating a unique journey through the varying terrain, history, and natural beauty of Mission Tejas.

- See the oldest Pine in the park, explore a landscape seen by many of the first travelers in East Texas, see the towering 100+ ft. White Oak walk along the bottomlands of San Pedro Creek, and make your way back to our start through twisting and turning ravine cut hills.

Participants need to bring water, appropriate clothing/footwear for the outdoors, and the desire to take in all the sights the park has to offer in one afternoon!

Meet at the Mission!

***Attendance to this event is open to the public and free AFTER regular day use or camping fees.
