Marvel at the Moon

7:30p to 8:30p

Admire the moon up close, and learn about its connection to the Caddo…

Come use our telescope to see the moon like never before. We will learn about the story of or nearest neighbor according to modern science, and then travel back to ancient times and discuss its integral role in the Caddo creation mythos.

- As we walk and talk on our way to the viewing location, those who want their own light should bring a red lens/light if possible. There will be a limited number of headlights available from the park, first come first serve.

- Once we are set up in the viewing location, our lights will go dark and we’ll marvel at the moon!

Participants may want to bring water, bug spray, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, a folding chair if desired, a flashlight (with a red lens if possible), and a nocturnal mindset.

This event is dependent on weather, check our park’s facebook page for the most up to date details!

Meet at the Mission.

***Attendance to this event is open to the public, but as this is a night event participants who arrive after park hours will need to use the self-pay station. Entrance fees are 3$ per person 13 and older. Attendance to the event itself is free AFTER regular day use or camping fees.
