…because show and tell just won’t cut it when the targets are out!

- Experience the challenge of primitive hunting and warfare with the atlatl in a safe archery range setting at Mission Tejas State Park!

- The atlatl is a tool that has gone by many names and been used by many cultures around the world. It may just be a simple lever to throw spears farther and faster, but it’s also a fantastically fun way to connect to the past and experience history firsthand.

- Discover a little bit about the history of the atlatl and where it fits in the story of humanity. Learn the proper technique for safely and skillfully using the atlatl to propel darts down range. Then give it a shot yourself, pun intended folks!

Meet @ Festival Ground Behind HQ

Participants should bring water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, and be ready for a challenge!

*Attendance to this event is open to the public and free AFTER regular day use or camping fees.
