Come learn about the history of the Rice Family Log Home from the park interpreter!
The Rice Family Log Home remains as one of the best examples of log homes built by East Texas settlers in the 19th Century. Come see the design of the home and explore how its construction kept its inhabitants sheltered from the Texas elements.
Aside from the home itself, come discover the stories of the Rice Family who called this building home and hear about their efforts to pioneer a new way of life during Texas's most turbulent periods.
Where: We will be meeting at the visitor center by park headquarters and take a very short walk to the Rice Family Log Home. Restrooms are located at HQ and will be offered before the program.
When: March 22, & 29 and April 5, 12, 19 @ 2:30 PM.
Cost: Regular Admission into the park: $3/person. Kids 12 and under and carriers of a valid Texas State Parks Pass do not have to pay admission.
