Come learn about a native canine in North America that is seen by many, heard by most, and misunderstood by all.

There are several members of the canine family that call North America home, including the lovable dogs that keep many of us company. But one of them, above all the others, has earned a bad reputation it doesn’t truly deserve.

  • Come join our Park Interpreter explain some of the misconceptions behind the “prairie wolf”.
  • Learn how the path it has followed has shaped its behavior in many ways that mirror the story of humanity.
  • Meet at the Amphitheatre, the trail is behind the day-use restroom ramps near the playground
  • After the presentation those who wish to can join Ranger Jared in hunting for tracks near the pond.

Participants should bring water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the outdoors, mosquito spray, and your strongest howl!

*Attendance to this event is open to the public and free after regular day use or camping fees.
