Tejas Trash Bash, Pond Pickup

1:00p to 2:00p
Sat, December 08, 2018
Jared Shamburger

Help clean up the ravines that feed our pond, and win a prize with the biggest bag!

Water brings us life, but trash floats too! While we pride our little park in its’ cleanliness, we can’t control the weather. The reenergizing fall rains we love can also bring trash downstream with them.

- Join Ranger Jared off-trail in exploring the floodplains and ravines that feed our fishing hole, and help us pick up trash before it finds its’ way to our waters.

- Bags and gloves will be provided and we will talk about why Leave No Trace is so important for stewardship in Texas State Parks.

- The visitor who packs out the most trash will win a unique prize for their efforts in keeping Mission Tejas clean!

Meet at the CCC Pond spillway bridge. Participants should bring water and appropriate clothing/footwear for the outdoors. Come help us bash this trash!

*Attendance to this event is open to the public and free after regular day use or camping fees.
