Sat, April 18, 2026
Britton Trotter
(737) 289-3244

Combine technology with the great outdoors with geocaching. Join a local geocaching expert to learn about the fundamentals of locating secret treasure hidden around the world, and maybe even find your first one!

This program will teach visitors how to read and understand trail maps, compass interpretation, and how both of these concepts relate to the modern geocaching. Participants will then practice their newfound skills to locate one of the park's geocaches.

Bring: Charged phone with Geocaching app by Groundspeak Inc, Trail Map (which can be acquired upon check-in at park Headquarters), sunscreen, Optional: GPS unit. If you would like to keep searching for caches after the program, long pants and good hiking shoes are recommended.

Meet: By the Day-Use bathrooms

Cost: Free with park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Day passes can be purchased ahead of time on our website.

This is a come and go event, running from 9am-1pm.

EVENT MAY BE CANCELLED OR MOVED INDOORS DUE TO INCLIMENT WEATHER.
