A Slice of Palo Duro Pie

Learn about the geology that makes up each slice of Palo Duro Canyon in this short hike.

Join our rangers in a short hike along the Triassic and CCC Trails (Approximately 0.5 miles one way). Participants will get the chance to experience the geology of Palo Duro Canyon up close and personal.

Things You Should Know: 

• Meet: At the Visitor Center/Coronado Lodge and Overlook parking lot. A free shuttle will be provided to and from the Triassic Trailhead. Because of regulations on shuttles, pets are not allowed on this program.
• Bring: Comfortable walking/hiking shoes or boots (they will get sandy), 1 liter of water per person per mile, and weather appropriate clothing (jackets, etc.). 
• Cost: Included with admission to the park. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before event).
