Christmas Full Moon Hike

Experience the beauty and mystery of the season on our Christmas Full Moon Hike!

Join us for an easy 0.5-mile one-way hike as we trek through the winter landscape to witness the breathtaking sight of the full moon rising over the canyon walls. Along the way, you'll listen to fascinating tales and learn about the history, folklore, and cultural significance of the December full moon. This special hike offers a chance to connect with nature, enjoy the tranquility of the night, and take in the awe-inspiring view of the moon illuminating the canyon. Bring your friends, family, and a sense of wonder for an unforgettable holiday experience beneath the stars.

 

Meet: Dirt parking lot, just past the Juniper Camping Loop.
Bring: Weather appropriate clothing (jackets, etc.), a headlamp/flashlight, 1 liter of water per person per mile and comfortable walking/hiking shoes or boots (they will get sandy).
Cost: Included with admission to the park. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before event).
