Hot Air Balloons in the Canyon!
We’re excited to partner with Pirates of the Canyon, City of Amarillo and the High Plains Food Bank for a special 3 day event October 23-25.
On October 25th entrance to Palo Duro Canyon is free with a donation of three cans or non-perishable items per car. For a list of the most-needed items, visit https://www.hpfb.org/host-a-drive/
That morning, the Pirates of the Canyon balloons will be in the canyon for everyone to enjoy.
*Pirates of the Canyon is a weather-dependent event*
The safety of all of Pirates of the Canyon guests, including pilots and crews, will be our priority when making operational decisions. October is ideal for hot air ballooning, but inclement weather can sometimes prevent balloons from inflating, and rainy conditions may close specific areas within John Stiff Park and Palo Duro Canyon.
In the case that a balloon launch or balloon glow is cancelled, on standby, or ready to go as scheduled, notification will be sent through social media channels.
