First Sunrise of 2025 Hike

Ring in the New Year right with a First Day Hike!
Join our rangers for a brisk, early morning hike on the Triassic Trail! Participants will be hiking along a portion of the Triassic Trail (0.8 miles one way) for a beautiful morning view of the sunrise coming up over the canyon on new years day!
Things you should know:
Meet: at Mack Dick Parking lot for shuttle to the trail head
Bring: Comfortable walking/hiking shoes or boots, 1 liter of water per person per mile, and weather appropriate clothing (jackets, etc.).
Cost: Included with admission to the park. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before event).
Remember to pay with a self-service envelope at Headquarters or make a day use reservation before arriving!
