Hunter’s Moon Hike

Experience the rising of October’s Hunter’s Moon in this full moon hike.

Join our rangers in a short moonlit hike along the river. Watch the Hunter’s Moon rise over the walls of Palo Duro Canyon and hear the tales of this spooky, autumn full moon.

Things You Should Know: 

• Meet: Large Dirt Parking Lot past the Juniper Camping Loop. Look out for our brown program sign across the road on your right hand side!
• Bring: Weather appropriate clothing (jackets, etc.), a headlamp/flashlight, 1 liter of water per person per mile and comfortable walking/hiking shoes or boots (they will get sandy).
• Cost: Included with admission to the park. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass(purchased before event).

This program may be cancelled due to weather.
