What is your place in the cosmos? Come to Palo Duro Canyon State park to explore the night sky with the park interpreter. Learn about our place in the universe and some of the fascinating stories humans have used to understand the stars throughout history. The park's new 10'' telescope will be available for viewing of the night sky.

Prepare: Dress for the weather and come prepared to sit outdoors. Wooden bench seating is available at the amphitheater, but you are welcome to bring a blanket to spread on the ground or a camp chair to sit in. Flashlights will be needed for coming to and leaving the area, and lights with red filters work the best. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are welcome.

Meet: At the Lone Star Interpretive Theater, located in the middle of Hackberry Camping Loop. Please look for the flashing arrows that will direct you to the party's location. Plan to arrive at the park gate no later than 6:30 to ensure that you make it to the party on time.

Fees: Regular park entrance fees ($5 per adult, children 12 & under are free). No charge for this program.
