Edible Plant Hike

Come and learn which plants are safe to eat!
Today, most people get their fruit and vegetables from the grocery store. But for thousands of years, humans have foraged for their food from many of the same plant species that we drive past on the road every day.
Come learn from a ranger about which plants are safe to eat, which plants to avoid, and the etiquette of foraging. NOTE: We will not be gathering any plants during this program.
Pro tip: This program is free with park entry, but sometimes we fill up on weekends. Making a day-use reservation online beforehand will guarantee entry into the park!
Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Date: Saturday, July 11
Meet: Crappie Cove
Bring: Water, sun screen, good hiking shoes
Note: This event is weather dependent. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for any program updates.
