Hackenburg Loop Trail Day

Its National Trail Day! Join us in caring for one of our favorite trails - Hackenburg Loop!

National Trails Day is a day to look at our favorite local trails, and give them the love and attention needed to keep them beautiful and cared for. If you live close by or just love hiking here at this park, we invite you to help us care for our trails by picking up trash, removing obstacles, taking pictures, or even submitting wildlife sightings to places like iNaturalist!

Our guided hike this day will be along Hackenburg Loop, one of our ranger's favorites!

  • RSVP by emailing name and number of people in your group to Stephen.Garmon@tpwd.texas.gov
  • Meet at the Falls Parking Lot to join!
  • Gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers, and trimmers will be provided. Bring your own gloves if you'd prefer though.
  • Hike is about 1.5 miles long, and ends at the Pedernales Falls.
  • Terrain is flat dirt and grass for first half, rock, root, and dirt for second half. Rocky section along the river is rough but not steep.
