Girl Scouts Love State Parks Day 2026

Connect with fellow Girl Scouts and experience the nature at Purtis Creek!

Join us at Purtis Creek for a day of exploring, discovery, and fun for Girl Scouts of all ages! 

 

Program Itinerary (all ranger-guided programs at the Playground): 

  1.  9 AM - Backyard Birding: Learn about the amazing world of birds at the park and in your own backyard! 
  2. 11 AM - Jr. Ranger Academy: Explore the park, learn about Leave No Trace, fill out a journal, and become an official Jr. Ranger! 
  3. 1 PM - Art in the Park: Dig into your creativity to paint or draw the moment you fell in love with nature! 

All Day Self-Guided Activities

  • Bring or borrow some fishing equipment and fish along our banks or off of our piers!
  • Explore the park with your troop and complete a Jr. Ranger journal to earn a badge! 
  • Walk the trails and clean up the park to help others leave no trace and keep Purtis Creek beautiful! 

Prepare for Your Adventure 

  • Cost: Programs are free to attend with purchase of day use entry pass ($5 per person, 13 years and older or free with Annual Texas State Parks Pass).
  • Bring: Water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, bug spray, and a snack.
