🎉 Join us for a FREE day in the park to help celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Texas State Parks! There will be events and activities for all to enjoy.

Archery

Wildlife Viewing

  • Wildlife Viewing Area

Nature Hike

  • Playground Restroom Area
  • Leaves at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
  • Roughly 1 mile

Canoeing

  • Lakeview Boat Ramp
  • Come and go
  • All equipment provided – bring your own life jacket if you have one

Water / Skins & Skulls / Friends Group

  • Chaparral Pavilion Area
  • Come and go

Longhorn / BisonA longhorn and bison touch noses through a fence

  • Viewing Area

Fishing with a Ranger

  • Javelina Pond

  • Limited availability of rods, reels & tackle provided

Permian Tracks Tour

  • Gate 8-3 on Hwy 2288
  • Leaves at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
  • ¾-mile round-trip hike

Intro to Mountain BikingTwo people ride mountain bikes down a trail

  • Burkett Trailhead
  • Leaves at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
  • Bring your own bike and helmet

Nature Hike

  • Bell's Trailhead
  • Very back of North Concho Camping Area
  • Leaves at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.

Macey's Grave Horseback Ride

  • Area 6 gate on Hwy 2288
  • Leaves 10 a.m.
  • Bring your own horse

 

This is one of many 100-year celebration events happening in Texas state parks this year. Entry to a park is free on the day it hosts an official 100-Year celebration event (applies to day passes only). Guarantee entry by reserving your free day pass up to one month before this special event.
