Bring your own gear (no barbed hooks) and bait and join Sea Center Texas for a morning of catch-and-release fishing. Admission is free.

Youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The purchase of a fishing license for adults is not required to participate in this event.

What to Bring:

Participants are required to bring their own rods, reels, rigging (hooks, swivels, and sinkers), bait, and food and drinks.

Rods and Reels: Rods and reels should be lightweight to medium fishing action. It is recommended that the line strength should be a minimum of six pounds. Leader line should be a minimum of ten pounds.

Rigging: A Carolina rig with a 4/0 or 5/0 barbless hook is recommended. Barbless hooks can be purchased at a local sporting good store. If you hooks are barbed the barb must be pinched down. This is required in order to minimize the damage to the mouth of the fish. No treble hooks, wire leaders, or corks are allowed.

Bait: Dead bait such as shrimp, squid, mullet, or cubed beef liver (1"x1") are preferred. No artificial bait is allowed.

Other items to consider: It is recommended that you bring something to sit on, a cooler with drinks and snacks, and sunscreen. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
