All About Alligators

Sheldon Lake State Park is home to your favorite reptile, the American Alligator! Come join a Park Ranger to catch a glimpse of a wild alligator and learn why they are such specialists in this environment! (NO PROGRAM 8/26)

Join a park ranger for a program dedicated to our cold-blooded, often misunderstood, neighbors. We will talk about where alligators live, how they survive, and how humans can stay safe when visiting their habit. This talk will include a short hike around some of Sheldon's ponds as we search for a glimpse of these cool creatures!

We recommend that you bring water and wear flat, closed-toe shoes. This program is appropriate for all ages and abilities. All programs are free and available to the general public, no reservations are needed!
