Hawk Walk & Talk

Join us as we take the chance to witness these magnificent birds of prey on their migration journey.

New to Hawkwatching? Not sure what Hawkwatching even is?
Hawk migration occurs primarily March - May and September - mid-November. Join us on this guided hike as we take the chance to observe hawks stopping to rest at Sheldon Lake on their migration journey. We will provide binoculars and will be utilizing the John Jacob Observation Tower for viewing. *Please note that the elevator at the observation tower is currently inoperable for maintenance. We will be using the stairs to access.
When: Saturday, Nov 27th 10am
Where: Sheldon Lake State Park Pond Center. 14140 Garrett Rd., Houston, TX 77044
Who: All ages interested in Sheldon Lake's wildlife
We will be meeting at the Pond Center breezeway, the first building you will see after driving 2 miles down park road.
If using GPS navigation, be sure to enter the park address to avoid being directed towards the old, inoperable park entry once located on 90 HWY.
Spots and limited and reservations are required for this hike. Contact Natalie Banks to register at Natalie.Banks@tpwd.texas.gov or (281) 456-2800 x232.
