Meet us at the Buck House for a fun morning of birding. All experience levels are welcome, including those who have never been birding.

  • We will meet at the Buck House and hike the Interpretive Trail and part of River Trail to see what all we can spot.
  • The hike will be 1-1.5 miles through mature woodlands and part of our riparian area next to the South Llano River.
  • Keep your eyes open for the endangered Golden-cheeked Warblers as they have made their way back to South Llano River State Park to nest.
  • Parking and seating are available at the Buck House.
  • Restrooms are located at park headquarters, and there is a vault toilet at the end of the interpretive trail.
  • Camping loop restrooms are currently closed for construction.
  • Please bring water if you plan on joining us at this program.

Cost: Free with park admission, and park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. On busy weekends, reserve your day use pass early online! Please note: Be sure you have a day pass purchased for everyone attending.
