Explore the small heroes of the water - macroinvertebrates! Come prepared to get wet and enjoy the South Llano River.

Macroinvertebrates are small insects that begin their lifecycle in the water. They are used by scientists for a process called biomonitoring, and their presence can tell us about the health of a water ecosystem.

We will be sampling the river for these species, work together to identify them, and then use real-world science to determine the quality of the South Llano River! Spoiler Alert - we think the quality is absolutely fantastic - let's find out together!
