First Day Hike

Start off the new year with a park ranger for a hike through the pecan bottom down to Buck Lake.

Ring in the New Year with a park ranger for a hike through the Turkey Roost, Pecan Bottom, and down to Buck Lake.  Learn some history of the park, look for wildlife, and start 2024 off right.

The trail is about ~1.5 miles rated as easy.

Where:  Meet at the first parking lot down the Turkey Roost Road.

When:  10:30 am-Noon

What to bring: good hiking shoes, water, camera and binoculars (not required).

Note: Programs are open to the public and free with park entrance ($5 per adult aged 13 and up; kids 12 and under are free!). No need to register, just show up!!
