Join us for a slow-paced walk along the river and lake!

Celebrate National Trails Day with us! On this easy morning stroll, we'll walk past beautiful Buck Lake, named for the family who donated the land for the state park, and along the spring-fed South Llano River. We'll keep an eye out for all kinds of wildlife and nature!

Meet: at the 1st Day Use parking lot (take the road across from Headquarters, park at the first parking lot on the right)

Difficulty and length: This easy trail is approximately 1.50 miles. The dirt path is fairly level, but there is some uneven ground and a very small hill.

Who: Your whole family! All ages are welcome. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome.

Bring: Good walking shoes, sun protection, and drinking water are recommended. Bring binoculars if you're interested in looking for birds! Loaner binoculars will also be available.

Note: Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance fee: $5 per person ages 13 and up, kids 12 and under are free! No need to register, just show up!
