Looking for new ways to get your kids outside? Stephen F. Austin State Park actively engages children with nature through outdoor and creative activities, a 4-day adventure for 8- to 12-year olds!

General Program Details

Certified teachers lead hands-on activities that promote awareness of and appreciation for the environment. Kids will spend time learning outdoor safety skills, fire building, Dutch oven cooking, about native plants and animals, and nature journaling; to name a few.

Certified teachers, park employees, Friends Group volunteers, high school aides, and the park’s summer intern supervise the campers at all times.

All activities are subject to weather conditions. 

How To Register

Contact Ranger Vinnie Mercado via email at venus.mercado@tpwd.texas.gov to check availability and to receive the registration form. The form can be filled out and signed digitally or picked up at Park Headquarters. 

Fees

Camp fees are $180.00 per child, will include a camp t-shirt. 

Checks or money orders made payable to The Friends of Stephen F. Austin can be dropped off at SFA SP Park Headquarters or Nature Center. Credit card payments are accepted via PayPal. Make sure to include your camper's name with your payment method.

Registration and payment are due by May 7th. 

Meals

Meals are not provided. Children will need to bring a sack lunch each day.
