Christmas is for the Birds

Discover the power of citizen science while birding by using cell phone apps, like eBird and Merlin Bird ID by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Whether you are an avid birder or a novice, come join Ranger Vinnie for a guided look at the winter residents of Stephen F. Austin State Park

The hike will last about an hour and a half.

• Download eBird and/or Merlin ID before coming to the park; we have limited cell service.
• Meet at the Amphitheater parking lot.
• Bring comfortable shoes, water, hat, sunscreen, and binoculars and/or a bird field guide (if you have one)
• Email us if you'd like to reserve a pair of binoculars while you are birding!

Park admission is $5 for adults and FREE 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass.).
