Nature Journaling in a Digital World

Join Ranger Vinnie for a crash course on Nature Journaling in the 21st Century using free phone apps.

The practice of nature journaling has been a great tool for scientific discovery and our understanding of the natural world for hundreds of years. Traditionally, this involved taking paper and pencil out into nature to record our observations and feelings, but in a technology driven world we have more than one-way to observe and record our observations in nature.

Bring: A phone or tablet with apps (see below) pre- downloaded, water

Please download Seek, iNaturalist, eBird and Merlin Id from the app store prior to attending this program. We have limited cell service and Wi-Fi at the park.

This event is included with the purchase of a day pass. Adults are $5 per person, Children 12 and under are no charge. Texas State Park Pass holders admitted free of charge!
