Join Park Rangers from all over Texas, including the Buffalo Soldier Heritage Outreach Program and the Texas Outdoor Family team, for a new series of virtual programs that celebrate Black History throughout the month of February.

Tune into our Buffalo Soldier Heritage Outreach Program Facebook live stream from Tyler State Park. Join Lieutenant Dolifka as he shares the brave stories of the black paratroopers of World War II and the Buffalo Soldiers assigned to fire fighting duty during the legendary Big Burn forest fire.

This month-long online initiative as part of Buffalo Soldier University will encourage Texans of all ages to learn more about the contributions and achievements of African Americans in conservation, the great outdoors, and within our State and National Parks. This program is one of many Black History Month programs leading up to our BIG DAY, the Black History Trivia Challenge Final Exam on Saturday, February 27th at 6:00 pm (CST).

We hope you enjoy the entire virtual series featuring both the Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Outreach Program and the Texas Outdoor Family Program.
