🎉 Put the "TRY" in your New Year's Resolution!

State Parks Centennial logoThe T.R.Y.athlon is about experience new things in a new year. This T.R.Y. stands for Trekking, Riding, and kaYAKing. How else were we going to fit in the “Y”?

Visit stations throughout the park where you can learn about these sports from the enthusiasts themselves. Join members of the East Texas Trekkers for a walk in the forest. Learn about mountain biking from representatives of the East Texas Trail Advocacy. Try out kayaking with our own park rangers as your guides.

Make sure to dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring water, snacks, and your adventurous spirit.

  • Trekkers station is at the Northside Day Use area near the Silver Canoe Park Store.
  • Riders station is at the Blackjack Camping Loop.
  • Yak’ers station is at the Boat Ramp parking area.

* Weather may affect the ability to safely present the kayaking or biking programs. In case of weather- related changes to the event, we will host multiple hikes throughout the day.
