May 20th is the National Park Trust's Kids to Parks Day. Gather up the family, get outside, take a hike down a trail, go fishing, compete with each other on a scavenger hunt, look for birds, - just come and enjoy Village Creek State Park today!

Kid to Parks Day is a national movement to encourage children across the country to explore their local parks and discover nature right around the corner.

All day -  Scavenger Hunt -  Pick up a list at the park office or Nature Center and return the completed list for a small prize.

All day - Go Fishing - Bring your fishing poles or borrow one of ours and try to catch your dinner.  You don't even have to have a fishing license if you fish inside the park from the bank.

10 - 11 am - Junior Ranger Hike - Join ranger Kathy at the Beechwood trailhead for a guided nature hike.  Children ages 6 to 12  can get started earning their Junior Ranger Badge.  Junior Ranger Activity Journals will be available free at the park office or at the trailhead.

2 - 3 pm - Free S'mores - Come enjoy cooking your very own dessert over a campfire.  Yummy!  All supplies provided.  Meet at the park host site in the Multi-use Campground (next to the Nature Center).
