Wild Turkey Meeting

6:00p to 8:00p
Wed, October 25, 2023

Davilla Community Center
20803 FM 487
Davilla, Tx 76523

Join biologists as they discuss wild turkey management in Central Texas.

A hundred years ago, turkeys almost disappeared from Texas due to unregulated hunting and loss of habitat. Now, thanks to hunter and landowner support, bag limits and a restocking program, Texas has some of the highest densities in the country.

Robust turkey populations do not occur statewide, however. It takes continued management that impacts available habitat and annual harvest.

This meeting will cover the general habitat needs of wild turkey, proposed changes to turkey hunting regulations, and potential turkey restocking efforts in Bell, Milam and Williamson Counties.

Join us in Davilla and let's talk turkey!
