Gulf Coast "Tidal Tongue Twisters"

4th Grade Activity - Teacher Directions

Students learn about coastal wildlife and create tongue twisters.

A familiar tongue twister known to all is: "Sally sells seashells on the seashore!" There are certainly many seashells, particularly the state shell, the Lightning Whelk, which can be found on the shores along the Gulf of Mexico. But what about the other living things found in this region? Sea turtles, alligators, fiddler crabs, spoonbills, and other waterfowl, not to mention palm trees!
