Generations at Tyler State Park

Submitted by Jenny Johnston

I have been camping at Tyler State Park since I was a little girl. We named our first born child Tyler after our favorite park. When that little boy grew up and met the love of his life, he and his bride chose Tyler State Park to have their wedding in November 2009.

We had a three-day camping/wedding extravaganza with friends and family. We camped at Hickory Hollow, our favorite tent camping area, and turned the dining hall into a magical room with twinkle lights, music, great food and fun. The wedding was on Sunday afternoon at the amphitheater where we all gathered to watch Tyler and Cody make their promises to one another as the Fall leaves gently rained down around them. The reception was at the big group picnic area where we ate, danced and celebrated.

We continue to gather at Tyler State Park every year to celebrate their anniversary. This year marked their third and they added a new camper to the family, Azalie. So the tradition continues......
