<description>AUSTIN -- El 3 de junio, el Departamento de Parques y Vida Silvestre de Texas (TPWD) recibió la confirmación de la detección del gusano barrenador del Nuevo Mundo (NWS) en el condado de Zavala. Una muestra recogida de un becerro de tres semanas con una lesión umbilical fue identificada y confirmada como NWS por el Laboratorio Nacional de Servicios Veterinarios (NVSL) en Ames, Iowa. Actualmente no hay más detecciones en animales en Texas.</description>

<description>AUSTIN -- On June 3 the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) received confirmation of a detection of New World screwworm (NWS) in Zavala County. A sample collected from a three-week-old calf with an umbilical lesion was identified and confirmed as NWS by the National Veterinary Servies Laboratory (NVSL) in Ames, Iowa. There are currently no further detections in animals in Texas.</description>
