Texas Parks & Wildlife Expo Celebrates 15 Years Oct. 7-8

AUSTIN, Texas — America’s largest free, family-oriented festival of the outdoors celebrates its 15 year anniversary at the Parks and Wildlife Headquarters in Austin on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8. The annual event that began as a tribute to hunting’s role in conservation in 1992 today includes fishing, shooting sports, state parks, Texas history, rock climbing, biking, birding, paddling and many other activities, all free to the public.

State Parks Advisory Committee Readies Final Report

Hunter’s Choice Approved for Waterfowl Season

AUSTIN, Texas — The Hunter’s Choice experiment option for the Central Flyway gained approval from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and gives Texas waterfowlers more latitude during the entire season in exchange for a reduction to the daily bag limit from six to five birds.

AUSTIN, Texas — New hunting and fishing licenses for 2006-07 will be available beginning Tuesday, Aug. 15, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is reminding customers that all current annual hunting and fishing licenses expire Aug. 31.

Kite Tube Manufacturer Issues Recall

AUSTIN, Texas — In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sportsstuff, Inc., of Omaha, Nebraska, voluntarily recalled about 19,000 Wego Kite Tubes July 13.
