BOERNE — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 13 regarding the kinds of facilities and recreational uses being considered for the Albert and Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area. The meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Boerne Public Library.

ABK State Natural Area was donated in 2011 to TPWD at the behest of the Kronkoskys. The property encompasses more than 3,700 acres of the former 3K Ranch that straddles the Kendall-Bandera County line. The park is not expected to be fully opened to the general public for at least another few years.

The purpose of the meeting is to present an overview of the facilities and recreational uses proposed for the park and receive comments that will guide future park development. Maps showing the facilities and recreational uses will be available for viewing at the meeting.

All interested citizens are invited to attend the public meeting at the public library located at 451 N. Main St. in Boerne.

Written comments from the public on the project must be received by Aug. 25 in person, by mail or by e-mail. Comments can be presented in person or sent to ABK State Natural Area Superintendent James Rice, 7690 Highway 46 W., Pipe Creek, TX 78063 or james.rice@tpwd.texas.gov or to Texas State Park Planner Drew Carman, 4200 Smith School Road, Austin, TX 78744 or drew.carman@tpwd.texas.gov.

For general questions about the state natural area, contact Rice by calling (830) 535-4856.
