AUSTIN — Adventure lovers, grab your popcorn and head to the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Austin May 5 and 6 for the return of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. This is the 16th year that Whole Earth Provision Company has hosted the tour in Austin and the 10th year that Texas State Parks has been the beneficiary of the event. The Austin audiences are among the largest of the festival tour.
“Congratulations to our Texas State Parks for 100 years of providing Texans with places of natural beauty and recreational opportunities to refresh our spirits and create treasured memories,” said Jack Jones, founder of Whole Earth Provision Co. “We hope the public will join us in supporting our state parks.”
Whole Earth combines the proceeds from the World Tour shows with the funds raised during its monthlong “April is Texas State Parks Month” event in their stores where customers are encouraged to make donations. The 11-year total of funds raised by the two events is now more than $271,800.
“Texas State Parks have been a beloved destination for 100 years, and we are grateful to Whole Earth Provision Company for their long-standing commitment to helping preserve these natural treasures,” said Thomas Wilhelm, marketing and branding manager for Texas State Parks. “The donations from the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour and ‘April is State Parks Month’ have a direct, positive impact on the visitor’s experience.”
