New Spotted Seatrout Regulations Begins March 16 in Multiple Bay Systems

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPW) Commission approved proposed rule changes to bag and size limits for spotted seatrout on the middle and lower Texas coast during the January 2022 meeting.  The new rules take effect on March 16 in Matagorda Bay, San Antonio Bay, Aransas Bay, Corpus Christi Bay, and the Upper and Lower Laguna Madre Bay systems.

ShareLunker Program Enjoys Back-to-Back Double Lunker Weekend

ATHENS – Anglers in Texas reeled in two more Legacy Class largemouth bass for the second consecutive weekend. Possum Kingdom kicked things off Friday afternoon Feb. 18 with its third Legacy Lunker of the 2022 Toyota ShareLunker season after securing the first two a weekend ago. Houston County Lake then followed suit Saturday afternoon Feb. 19 with its first Legacy Class fish since 1990 and in the process became the second consecutive waterbody to record a Legacy fish after a lengthy absence.

TPWD Seeks Input on Texas Freshwater Fishing Regulation Proposals for 2022-23

AUSTIN – Defining reservoir boundaries and modified harvest regulations on designated waterbodies highlight this year’s list of proposed freshwater fishing regulation changes. The proposed changes also include modified regulations on the Red River Tributaries for prevention of transfer of invasive carp, largemouth bass harvest regulations correction, clarification of striped bass species information, and Sam Rayburn Reservoir county designation.
