TPWD Adds Second Public Hearing in Corpus Christi on Proposing Seatrout Bag Limit Change

AUSTIN — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has slated two public hearings for Corpus Christi to gather comment on proposed fishing and hunting regulation changes. TPWD staff presented proposed amendments to the 2014-15 Statewide Recreational and Commercial Fishing Proclamation to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission. Urban Bobcat Study Underway in Dallas-Fort Worth Area

Public Comment Sought on Use of Toxic Substances to Collect Nongame Wildlife

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is proposing an amendment to the Parks and Wildlife regulations that would make it illegal to use noxious or toxic substances to disturb or collect nongame wildlife as well as prohibiting the possession of nongame wildlife collected using these substances.

Bovine TB Monitoring Effort Expanded to Include Mule Deer and Elk

AUSTIN – Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) are seeking input on a cooperative effort to monitor for Bovine Tuberculosis (TB) in Texas, which would include sampling hunter-harvested mule deer and elk. The tissue samples used for this effort would be the same samples currently collected as part of the ongoing Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) monitoring effort.
