Web Advertising Policy

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) does not sell web-only or mobile app only advertising. TPWD does however provide web advertising and mobile app advertising as an added-value benefit for print advertisers of select TPWD publications and for sponsors who receive print advertising as part of their sponsorship package. Print advertisers who meet the minimum print ad buy requirements in Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine, the Outdoor Annual Hunting and Fishing Regulations and the Texas State Park Guide will receive advertising on the TPWD website and advertising on TPWD mobile app(s) according to standard sizes and specifications determined and defined by TPWD. Sponsors who receive at least one full-page print ad (or the equivalency of a full page ad, e.g. two half page ads) in any of these publications as part of their sponsorship package may be granted advertising on the TPWD website or advertising on one or more TPWD mobile app contingent on approval by the TPWD Communications Division Director.

Advertising of tobacco or alcohol products or advertising that is not appropriate for viewing by youth will not be accepted. (Tex. Parks & Wild. Code §11.172(c);31 Tex. Admin. Code §51.72.) Advertising of other products that are not compatible with the mission of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will also not be accepted. All ads are subject to approval of TPWD. TPWD reserves the right to reject any ad at any time if the ad does not align with the mission or communication standards as determined by TPWD's Marketing Director. The acceptance of ads does not imply endorsement of the products or services by TPWD. It is the responsibility of the advertiser and/or its advertising agency to ensure that the advertising is not deceptive or false. TPWD is not liable for any damages resulting from errors in displaying or printing an ad. TPWD shall use its best efforts to run the advertising during the agreed upon timeframe. The advertiser and its advertising agency, jointly and independently, agree to indemnify and hold harmless TPWD and its agents and employees against expenses (including legal fees) and losses resulting from the advertising, including, without limitation, claims or suits for libel, violation of privacy, copyright infringement or plagiarism. Nothing in these policies shall be construed as a waiver of TPWD's sovereign immunity.
