Most State Parks Open

Oct. 20, 2020 – Most state parks, including this one, are open. Some limitations and guidelines are in place for everyone's safety.

Many parks have reduced their capacity at this time. We strongly encourage making day pass and camping reservations before you visit. Reserve them online or by calling (512) 389-8900.

What to know before you visit:

  • Face coverings are required inside state buildings, including restrooms.
  • Some parks are only accepting credit cards. Bring a card just in case.
  • In most cases, groups larger than 10 people are not allowed, except for families or people living in the same household.
  • Some parks are taking group reservations. Capacity may be reduced due to local COVID-19 regulations. Call the Group Desk at (512) 389-8920 for information.
  • Maintain at least a six-foot distance from people not in your group.
  • Most park headquarters, visitor centers and stores are open with mask, occupancy  and social distancing requirements.
  • Some parks are renting or loaning equipment. Check with the park for information.
  • In-person events will have limited capacity.
  • Park hours may be adjusted - be sure to check park hours before you visit. Contact the park for the gate code during regular hours if you will be arriving after hours to camp.
